UX of Autonomous Intersections (2019)

In recent years traffic engineers have developed inspiring models of autonomous intersections i.e. smart intersection that do not require traffic lights to manage the road users.To investigate the impact of such intersection models, I developed a simulation environment that enabled a first person perspective of driving in a future intersection. Autonomous intersection models can now be tested in a driving simulator and in VR.

Rethinking Indoor Parking (2018)

Research, development and validation of the world’s first fully-functional prototype of an indoor parking navigation system.The development combined rapid-prototyping in the context of lab-based experiments and field studies.

AutoPlay Series: Prototyping Interactive Experiences for Future Autonomous Driving (2016)

Doctoral research on novel non-driving activities for safe and pleasurable autonomous driving experiences of the future. Based on a research-through-design approach, I designed, developed and explored the impact of three fully-fuctional prototypes: (1) AutoJam, a touch-sensitive, interactive steering wheel cover for interactive music experiences in stop-and-go traffic; (2) AutoRoute, an experimental navigation application for future commuting in autonomous cars and (3) AutoGym, an in-car exertion game that translated the speed of the car into a fun fitness program.
